FAQ

When should I hire a postpartum doula?

There is no wrong time to hire a postpartum doula! As the demand for postpartum support continues to increase, we often encourage new parents to secure their postpartum doula around the start of their third trimester. This ensures adequate time to get to know the individual who will spend a considerable amount of time in your home and access to your doula throughout the final months of your pregnancy. We do our best to accommodate families with immediate support needs as we are able.

For growing families looking to prioritize rest, the phrases overnight postpartum doula, night nanny and night nurse are used interchangeably. To alleviate confusion and misrepresentation, we avoid referring to our team members as either ‘nannies’ or ‘nurses’ in any capacity. The DOB professionals who specialize in ensuring your whole family gets the sleep they need to thrive are Postpartum Doulas or Newborn Care Specialists (often both!).
